EqualLogic Firmware is a full-function SAN operating system integrated across the entire family of EqualLogic PS arrays. A unique peer storage architecture helps deliver consistent performance through virtualization and optimization of resources across the SAN. Data protection resources, such as snapshots, clones and replication, help maximize business continuity and simplify backup and recovery.
EqualLogic Group Manager integrates with EqualLogic Firmware to provide storage administrators with detailed information on the SAN configuration as well as the ability to manage all the arrays in the SAN through a single interface, for example, in conjunction with replication-based disaster recovery operations.

The alerts range from basic hardware health status to more sophisticated analyses of latency on a given volume that may be impacting user experience or notification that a thin provisioned volume is approaching an important capacity threshold. If action is required, the EqualLogic Group Manager can be launched directly from SAN HQ giving storage administrators the ability to tune storage systems quickly to meet business needs.
