Array Software
Provides advanced SAN functions that enable virtualized storage and best-practice data protection. Array software includes EqualLogic Firmware, EqualLogic Group Manager, and EqualLogic Manual Transfer Utility.
EqualLogic Firmware is a full-function SAN operating system integrated across the entire family of EqualLogic PS arrays. A unique peer storage architecture helps deliver consistent performance through virtualization and optimization of resources across the SAN. Data protection resources, such as snapshots, clones and replication, help maximize business continuity and simplify backup and recovery.
EqualLogic Group Manager integrates with EqualLogic Firmware to provide storage administrators with detailed information on the SAN configuration as well as the ability to manage all the arrays in the SAN through a single interface, for example, in conjunction with replication-based disaster recovery operations.
EqualLogic Manual Transfer Utility is a host-based tool for Windows and Linux operating systems that enables the secure transfer of large amounts of data using removable media.
Host Integration Tools
Extend the functionality of EqualLogic firmware by enabling cooperation with the host. Through this integration, EqualLogic Host Software can deliver advanced data protection, high availability and performance, and simplified management of application data.
Integration tools include the EqualLogic Remote Setup Wizard, which simplifies the process of setting up and scaling-out SAN arrays, and platform-specific editions of EqualLogic Auto-Snapshot Manager, which help simplify and automate backup and recovery tasks within Microsoft® and VMware® environments. Additionally, EqualLogic Storage Adapter for VMware Site Recovery Manager integrates with VMware to provide centralized disaster recovery management, automation and testing for the entire virtualized datacenter.
EqualLogic SAN Headquarters (SAN HQ)
Is an advanced SAN monitoring tool that provides centralized access to detailed performance and event data, reporting, and intelligent alerts from dozens of EqualLogic storage array groups that could be spread across multiple locations around the world. IT managers can see information on all of the monitored groups at a glance, including the group location, IP address, and firmware version as well as any alerts. The alerts range from basic hardware health status to more sophisticated analyses of latency on a given volume that may be impacting user experience or notification that a thin provisioned volume is approaching an important capacity threshold. If action is required, the EqualLogic Group Manager can be launched directly from SAN HQ giving storage administrators the ability to tune storage systems quickly to meet business needs.
